Precision Drilling is Canada's largest drilling contractor with a fleet of advanced rigs and a team of knowledgeable and dependable people to provide customers with solutions to their contract drilling needs.

Precision's strategy is to create value for customers with advances in drilling technology and exceptional standards of service.

Our well-maintained fleet of 226 single, double, triple rigs and coiled tubing units are adaptable to the wide variety of coal bed methane, natural gas, conventional oil, heavy oil, and in situ oil sands drilling prospects at depths to 6,700 metres in major sedimentary basins in Canada.

Single and double rigs and coiled tubing units are generally used in shallow drilling while triple rigs, with more hoisting capacity, are typically used in deeper drilling in the foothills regions. Precision's fleet is weighted toward deeper capacity rigs, and all our rigs are adaptable to operate in extreme cold or heat.

Precision's drilling rig fleet is strategically deployed across the most active regions of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin (WCSB). As a result, when a customer requires a specific type of rig on a drilling location, Precision's logistical advantages generally give us the ability to deliver the right equipment faster than our competitors.

Fleet versatility and geographic proximity make Precision a premium service provider in the WCSB. Precision also provides land drilling services in eastern Canada.

Innovations such as slant drilling capabilities, AC electric top drives, variable frequency drives and a variety of pad configurations allows Precision to give customers the technically advanced equipment needed for today's more challenging drilling requirements for heavy oil production.

130 drilling rigs in Precision's Canadian fleet are either Super Series or high performance. They provide more precise control of drilling components and greater power efficiency than mechanical rigs and are well suited for horizontal and directional drilling.

The ability to develop in-house solutions for customers is evident in our latest generation Super Single drilling rig. The Super Single continues to set new benchmarks for safety and performance with its automated pipe-handling and the ability of most of the rigs to operate from vertical or slant positions. The Super Single has the ability for specialty drilling such as river crossings for pipe lines, steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) oil wells and coal bed methane and tight gas wells without comprising its ability to move fast.

Simply put, Precision considers the Super Single to be the best high-tech, multiple-purpose rig in its class in the world today.

However, we are never satisfied with the status quo and Precision is applying state of the art AC drives to its next generation Super Single rig as well as the new line of fast-moving and versatile 4,000 metre AC drive triple rigs.

The Precision advantage extends beyond equipment to the quality of our crews and the levels of training and support we provide all staff members.

Precision Drilling has an industry-leading health, safety and environment (HSE) initiative called Target Zero which places a premium on safe working practices. When coupled with Precision's other training and employee initiatives, these programs consistently yield top-quality personnel for Precision Drilling who exceed industry safety standards and customer expectations.
