Live Well Service has a fleet of 30 portable hydraulic rig assist and stand alone snubbing units in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin to enhance production and maximize the recoverable reserves from fluid sensitive, under pressured, naturally fractured and low permeability reservoirs.
Snubbing is ideal for underbalanced drilling programs and ensures that an entire drilling operation can be conducted in a continuous, pressure-controlled environment to reduce the potential for formation damage. Other advantages of using Live Well Service include:
- Boosting production by maintaining hydrostatic pressure below formation pressure
- Reducing chances of formation damage by eliminating use of "kill" fluids
- Protecting the environment by minimizing the chemicals in drill fluids and reducing wellsite flaring by re-circulating gas
- Preventing fluids and cuttings from invading the formation and causing damage
- Reducing the need for expensive reservoir stimulation treatments
- Allowing for formation evaluation operations during drilling
In addition to underbalanced drilling, snubbing is ideal for completions and workovers in fluid sensitive formations. Other applications include:
- Low-pressure gas wells that may not recover from overbalanced kill fluids
- High-volume, deep gas workovers where formation sandstone clays are susceptible to swelling
- Areas with high costs for purchase and disposal of kill fluids
A fully equipped snubbing unit can usually be quickly dispatched to a customer. Experienced snubbing operators plan the most efficient and safest approach to the often complex work with shallow and deep gas reservoirs in harsh terrain and conditions.
Live Well Service operates a fleet of rig assist snubbing units which work in conjunction with a service rig on the well site to lift the snubbing unit into place.
Live Well Service also markets stand alone snubbing units that do not require a rig on site and improve efficiency and safety with an automated pipe-handling system. A cost-effective rig up procedure as well as minimal crew and vehicle needs and a smaller footprint on the wellsite are among the advantages of a stand alone snubbing unit.
Live Well Service has an industry-leading health, safety and environment initiative called Target Zero which places a premium on safe working practices. When coupled with Precision's other training and employee initiatives, these programs consistently yield top quality personnel for Live Well Service who exceed industry safety standards and customer expectations.
