Precision Well Servicing is Canada's largest service rig contractor and provides a full range of completion and production services for oil and natural gas wells from a fleet of more than 235 service rigs.
Service rigs are used to initiate production from a well, provide maintenance (re-completions) to improve productivity during the working life of the well and, when production is no longer economically viable, properly abandon the well.
Service rigs are typically used during the completion phase of a new oil or natural gas well rather than larger and more expensive drilling rigs to reduce the cost of starting on-going production. To reduce travel and improve efficiency for customers, Precision Well Servicing deploys its service rigs throughout the major producing centres in Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.
While completions initiate production and typically account for 40% of the activity for Precision Well Servicing, workovers to improve or sustain the productivity of existing wells account for 60% of activity. There are about 200,000 producing oil and gas wells in western Canada.
