Live Well Service, Precision's snubbing business, complements traditional well servicing by allowing work on some natural gas wells while the well bore remains under pressure and production is only temporarily suspended.
Live Well Service provides customers specialty well-control equipment and experienced snubbing crews to conduct completion and workover services as well as underbalanced drilling programs and wireline operations.
Snubbing is used to enhance production from gas wells where there is concern the use of fluids to stop production could damage a sensitive underground reservoir. Snubbing has environmental benefits as well because it minimizes the use of chemicals in underground formations and reduces well-site flaring by re-circulating natural gas.
Safety is especially critical when working with a producing well, and snubbing crews use pressure control equipment to remove and replace downhole pipe by pushing (snubbing) pipe into the underground wellbore in steps similar to how a boat moves through a water lock system. |
